While many people gave rave reviews of the 2019 advent calendar, I took a different stance by pointing out its significant overlap with the Great Hall set. Given that the 2020 advent calendar has overlaps with the Clock Tower/Yule Ball set, one might assume that I would be disappointed as well. Surprisingly, I’m actually quite thrilled about the new advent calendar. Here’s why.
If you don’t own the Clock Tower set, this is a cost-effective way to acquire key highlights from the Yule Ball. However, even if you already have the Clock Tower (which I do), there are still plenty of reasons to be excited about this advent calendar. The three new figures alone make it worth it—I’m delighted to have Lego versions of the Patil twins, and it’s nice to have Cho in her Yule dress. Even though there are repeats of three figures from the Clock Tower, two of them—Hermione in her gown and Ron in his hilarious hand-me-down attire—are so charming that I’m happy to have extras. As for the duplicate Harry, I plan on swapping his head to transform him into Roger Davies, Fleur’s Yule Ball date. This completes the set of Triwizard contestants in their Yule attire with their respective partners.
Furthermore, I’m pleased with the other components of the new advent calendar. The wrapped broom and Yule invitation look fantastic. Moreover, most of the other pieces do not feel redundant with the Clock Tower set; instead, I believe they will be valuable additions to enhance that set.
Despite my initial hesitation regarding the 2019 advent calendar, my daughter and I ended up having a wonderful time opening it. As a result, we are now even more excited for the 2020 version.

I developed my reading skills through the Harry Potter series when I was a child, and my mom was equally enthralled by it. Sometimes, she would even read the books aloud to me. In an attempt to bring some joy and nostalgia into her life after the difficult year of 2020, I decided to gift her this product for Christmas. Surprisingly, despite being in her 60s, she absolutely adored it! She mentioned that it added a daily dose of happiness and became something she eagerly looked forward to. The product effectively captured the essence of the Yule ball, giving it a vaguely Christmas-like atmosphere. Any Harry Potter fan would be thrilled to receive this gift. The miniature arrangements are all beautifully crafted, and it comes with delightful LEGO pieces such as a chocolate frog and a star for the Christmas tree. Just a heads up, the instructions for assembling the LEGO pieces can be found on the back of the cardboard flaps that you need to open in order to access the LEGO pouches.

This Advent calendar is perfect for adult Harry Potter fans. It is so much fun and I am really enjoying it. It even includes a golden egg! I love the intricate details on Pavarotti’s dress robes and the adorable phonograph. It’s a delightful surprise every day.

I purchased this product for my 10-year-old granddaughter and she absolutely adores it! Since she’s a fan of Harry Potter, she always looks forward to opening an Advent calendar when she comes to visit me. However, since she can’t visit right now, I decided to get this for her to enjoy at home. Every day, she excitedly video calls me to show me the surprise behind each door and then again to proudly display her completed assembly. It’s been a great way to bring some joy during this unique holiday season. I have been impressed with the on-point packaging, as all the pieces have been intact without any missing parts. In fact, some days we even found extra pieces! The “box” that holds the pieces cleverly resembles a ballroom and is made of sturdy Styrofoam with a cardboard overlay for the doors. It’s easy to open and close with no hassle. Overall, this has been a fantastic purchase!
