Disclaimer: I have prior experience with generic building bricks, and I prefer sets that are unique rather than those made by the popular “L” brand. I also appreciate “our version” brick sets, akin to generic perfumes and other products. In this case, I am reviewing their version of a Botanical Green House.
First, let’s discuss the instructions. I must admit that I am not a fan of the instructions provided. They present too much information in a single step. It would be more helpful if they were broken down into smaller, more manageable steps. For people like myself who require magnification, it would be beneficial to have clearer visuals to aid in identifying where the pieces fit together. Before attaching the bricks, it is crucial to double-check their placement. The arrows and lines on the instructions are not always clear due to the presence of already assembled bricks. Take your time, place the pieces on top to verify their positioning, and compare them to the next step.
The bricks themselves are somewhat “soft,” which means they can warp easily and prove challenging to connect at times. If you encounter any larger or warped pieces, you can warm them with a hair dryer on a low to medium setting. Additionally, I recommend using a hobby rubber or plastic mallet to gently tap the pieces together. Warming up the larger pieces can help them regain their original shape before assembling them with other pieces. I had to employ this method for several of the larger pieces.
Similar to many generic brick sets, this one heavily relies on single peg or 1×4 pieces. Unfortunately, these pieces do not always hold up well on their own. To address this issue, I used white glue to assemble and secure them in place. I have discovered that generic white glue (not the popular “E” brand) can be easily dissolved by heating it with a hair dryer, allowing the pieces to come apart and the glue to be removed. As long as the white glue is water-based, this method is effective. Most of the plants and wall pieces required the use of this technique.
Applying the shingles was a little tricky. Warming the pieces helped, but considerable effort was still necessary to ensure their proper adhesion. The white glue method does work, but I recommend using a toothpick to apply it to prevent any dripping down the walls.
The main roof is not designed to permanently stay in place. It simply rests on top and does not appear to be securely attached. This design allows for easy removal, providing access to all the interior details and facilitating the use of the switch. Personally, I am not utilizing the internal switch box because I plan to display the greenhouse inside a cabinet. Instead, I will create a faux backing that will house the switches. This method allows me to simply open the cabinet doors and turn on the lights or replace the batteries when necessary.
As a side note, I am currently redecorating my house and contemplating the implementation of an automatic light system for the rooms. Although I am unsure of its feasibility, I intend to place several of these buildings in the display cabinet. The lights on this set are bright and beautifully illuminate the interior of the cabinet. Since they only require three AAA batteries, they do not become too overpowering. The lights add a lovely touch and enable clear visibility of the interior details through the doors and other openings.
Once I am finished with my house project, I will endeavor to provide updates with photos. I highly recommend this set for both females and males, as it is a quality product. Although the pastel colors may suggest a feminine appeal, the overall structure and design of the greenhouse are more gender neutral.
It is important to note that this set is not suitable for younger children. The pieces are small and can be difficult to assemble. If purchasing this set for a younger individual, please ensure that an older person or adult is present to assist, such as by adding glue or using heat to facilitate the construction process. This is not a one-day project. While a teenager could likely complete it over a weekend, I recommend taking more time. Personally, it took me a few weeks, working on it for about an hour each day after work and several hours on the weekend. I find these sets to be a wonderful hobby that helps me unwind, think, and keep my mind sharp.

I have always dreamed of having my own coffee shop, and now I finally have one where my Lego minifigs can unwind after a long day. I must admit that some of the pieces were a bit challenging to connect, especially on the base, but overall I found the building process enjoyable.
