I thoroughly enjoyed building the E-Wing. The process involved some unique techniques to achieve the various angles. Despite being mostly hidden, the engines were impressively detailed. One standout feature was the folding landing gear, which added a nice touch. The storage compartment beneath the pilot’s seat was excellent, providing just the right amount of space for Captain Porter’s blaster and hairstyle.
Padawan Hati’s fighter, on the other hand, was even more enjoyable to build. While the main body is fairly standard (Studs Not on Top), I was slightly miffed at the height of the pilot’s seat, considering the clips shown in the Ahsoka trailers. However, the engine in the front was designed in an intriguing manner, resulting in a solid and well-fitting piece. Assembling the wings reminded me of my childhood days building a Naboo fighter, but with a much higher level of detail. The storage compartment behind the cockpit proved to be very convenient for storing a lightsaber or blaster. In addition, there was a surprisingly roomy second storage compartment that easily accommodated Baylan and his lightsaber, with another compartment underneath the floor providing ample space for a small blaster or two.

In my honest opinion, this set is really impressive! It offers a good value for the number of pieces you get, priced at around $105 USD. The starfighters themselves look amazing and their colors are very distinct, which I personally love. I estimate that the E-wing model utilizes about 650+ of the 1000 total pieces. It’s a bit bulkier and has movable wings, unlike Shin’s fighter. This set is perfect for building with a friend or significant other since you can easily split the pieces. My only complaints are the price, specifically the fact that the lightsabers for Baylan and Shin are sith red instead of the reddish-orange they are supposed to be. Additionally, the figures do not come with capes, which I thought was disappointing considering they wear them in the show. Nevertheless, overall it’s a great set with two solid ships that don’t feel like unnecessary additions.

I am thrilled that they have finally introduced the e-wing to the official Star Wars canon, and the accompanying set is truly exceptional. Additionally, the fact that I could purchase two play scale sets for just $110 is an excellent deal.
