While searching for my next building set, I stumbled upon the A-Wing set and was immediately captivated by its affordable price of approximately $26 and its stunning appearance. The unique Resistance colors on this A-Wing, as opposed to the typical red one, caught my eye. The combination of dark green with gold accents is truly alluring.
This set consists of 269 pieces and is designed for ages 7 and up. I found that the building process was fairly accurate and the final model is well-proportioned and scaled correctly. It has an authentic A-Wing look and does not seem awkward in any way.
One of the highlights of this set is its great “swooshability” and playability. The A-Wing is remarkably sturdy and can withstand lots of movement and play. It features two spring-loaded shooters, with an additional one included as a spare. The firing mechanism is ingeniously concealed on the hull of the A-Wing and functions exceptionally well – no issues with jamming or getting stuck. The side cannons, cockpit, and landing gears are all movable, and the cockpit securely holds a minifigure.
Speaking of minifigures, this set includes two highly detailed characters: Snap Wexley and Lieutenant Connix. I particularly love the helmet of Snap Wexley, with its yellow transparent visor. As always, the printing and detailing on the figures are excellent.
When my daughter saw the A-Wing firing one of its shooters, she immediately claimed it for herself. We both find this set incredibly enjoyable for both play and display purposes. It is one of those fantastic Lego sets that can appeal to a wide range of individuals, providing fun for children and a great addition to the Star Wars fleet for Adult Fans of Lego (AFOL).
Overall, this set offers excellent value for its price. It boasts impressive minifigures, displays well, plays well, and provides a quick yet enjoyable building experience. I highly recommend it! May the force be with you!

To start off, I want to say that this A-wing model is definitely worth its price. It’s one of the best ones available out there. The only downside for me is that the interior could have been more detailed. However, since I’m a huge Lego enthusiast, I decided to create my own interior and it turned out great. What really impressed me is that the landing gear actually works, which is not something you often find in Lego models, like the latest X-wing. If a smaller model like this can have functioning landing gear, then the X-wing should definitely have it too. One thing I would like to mention is that you can easily swap the colored bricks with a separate purchase from Bricklink, so you can give your A-wing a personal touch, like changing the color to red or blue.

I purchased this Lego set for myself because I am an adult who loves Star Wars, Legos, and spaceships. However, I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a larger Lego set. Fortunately, this kit is perfect. It’s a great option for anyone who wants to have fun flying a Lego spaceship around the room, excluding small children. Unlike larger Lego spaceships that are either too big or too delicate to play with, this A-Wing is just right. Additionally, it makes for a fantastic decoration for any nerd-inspired room, with its accurate proportions to the ship in the movies.
As a toy, it offers some cool features. The folding landing gear is a nice upgrade from the older models that rested on their tail fins. The spring-loaded missiles are a fun addition, and the launch buttons are cleverly concealed on the finished model. You can even swivel the guns on the sides of the ship, just like the real A-Wing.
The minifigs are great too. The pilot’s helmet even has a transparent piece that resembles the visor in the movies. The non-pilot figure is a welcome addition and blends well with the other rebel/resistance soldiers I have on my nerd-inspired shelf.
To sum it up, this A-Wing Lego set is fantastic and only costs $26. Although it may be smaller with fewer parts compared to other Star Wars sets, it offers excellent value for money, especially in terms of the quality of the ship. I highly recommend it.
