After my child had been requesting this product for 2 years, I finally decided to give in. Although I was initially hesitant about the price in relation to the number of Lego pieces included, I was pleasantly surprised. This product turned out to be interactive and enjoyable, and my child absolutely loves it.

I purchased this product for my wife, who is a big fan of Mario, but I must confess… I actually wish I had bought it for myself. It’s a fantastic ‘toy’ that we both find incredibly entertaining. And now, my 5-year old son is absolutely obsessed with it. Mario’s animated movements are captivating, and the concept of being able to expand the world is truly intriguing. I’m excited to continue growing our collection with more additions. Without a doubt, I strongly recommend investing in this product.

Gabe- In my opinion, the Lego Mario Starter Course was great because the Lego Mario had funny sounds and was really fun to play with. You can also build a lot of different structures with the set.
Mrs. Lee- Personally, I found the Lego Mario Starter Course to be an excellent starter set that allowed me to rediscover my love for Lego building and construction.
Gabe- One of the things I really liked about it was how the Lego Mario had different animations, which kept things interesting and never boring. I also enjoyed the interactive aspect, where it could detect what it was touching. For example, if you put it on a red Lego, it would set on fire, or if you put it on something red, it would have a similar effect. I also liked how Mario made sounds when you backflipped him and collected coins when you bounced him up. It was also fun to defeat Junior or Cooper by bouncing on their shells or heads and collect coins. Overall, Lego Mario was extremely enjoyable, and I had a lot of fun playing and building with it.
Mrs. Lee- In my opinion, the best part was being able to use the digital instruction manual. Instead of having a paper manual, we could download the Super Mario App which provided step-by-step directions and diagrams. It was convenient to have all the information in one place, and the app even had additional features like a photo gallery to save pictures of our creations. I really enjoyed using the digital instruction guide and app on my phone during this project.
Gabe- The one thing that I didn’t like was that there were no instructions for building the full castle. They only provided instructions for building individual parts. It would have been great if they included a mini castle diagram for those who didn’t want to create their own. Additionally, it would be helpful if they provided a diagram of a complete kingdom with all the pieces combined. The lack of a full build through of the set was disappointing.
Mrs. Lee- Honestly, there wasn’t anything I disliked about this starter set. But if I had to mention something, it would be that it was a bit challenging to put all the individual portions of the course together into a larger starter course. It got confusing towards the end. However, I ended up being creative and made my own layout for a cool and fun course for Mario. Including an example picture to follow would be a nice addition for all Lego builders.
Tips:
1. Follow the instructions and open only the bag indicated.
2. Remember that the instructions may not cover everything, so use your brain!
3. Use your imagination to customize your creation at the end.
4. Have a screwdriver and batteries ready for your set.
5. Handle your set with care to avoid breaking anything.
6. Check the floor for any runaway pieces before you finish cleaning up.
7. Make sure to download the Super Mario App before you start building.
8. Turn off Mario when not in use to preserve battery life.

I am a parent of two children: an 11-year-old who is a Lego enthusiast and an 8-year-old who usually isn’t interested. For Christmas, my 11-year-old received this Lego set along with a few others and quickly spent all his Christmas money on buying additional sets because he loved this one so much. Surprisingly, my 8-year-old also enjoyed playing with it and asked me to buy her own set using the Christmas money from her grandparents. Now they both have their own Marios to play with and they can enjoy playing together.
The best part about this set is that it’s not just a regular Lego building set. The Mario figures are electronic, which means they can be turned on and react to different colors and motions. They can even interact with the set in really cool ways. What’s more, they are Bluetooth compatible, so you can connect Mario to a device and actually “play” a Mario game while moving the real Mario along the Lego set. To do this, you need to download an app, which also includes building instructions and other fun content that the kids love.
I was pleasantly surprised by this system. I initially thought it was just another cool-looking Lego set, but the interactive features and imaginative play possibilities really make it stand out from other toys. It has kept my children engaged for countless hours, and the best part is that they are not even fighting over it anymore…well, not since my daughter got her own set, that is. 😉
